About Us

Connecting individuals with their Irish heritage one bit(e) at a time.

I would love to tell you our recipes are my dear, sainted mother’s. And that I learned to cook as a young child, in our kitchen at home. But honestly, my mother couldn’t bake a potato, never mind a loaf of bread.

But my aunts, grandmother and cousins . . .now they could cook. I loved time in the kitchen with them. When they made their breads and tarts, they didn’t measure, they didn’t over think it and they certainly didn’t count carbs. For me, to be invited into their kitchens was to be invited into the inner circle.

The breads, scones, cakes and tarts available thru Four Loaf Clover are authentic Irish recipes. They reflect items that are at the table for meals, family gatherings, and special occasions.

Food, much like art and language, is an integral connection to one’s culture. The food, the occasion and the customs keep you connected in a very meaningful way. It is our pleasure and privlidge to have our breads as a part of your family events – whether it’s a quiet cup of tea or raucous family celebration.

As connected to the Irish culture as food, is their religion. The St. Patrick’s Missionary Society (www.spms.org)  is an order of missionary priests, based in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Their work, their faith and their reach is extraordinary. They have touched the lives of countless men, women and children around the world. A percentage of each sale is donated back to the good fathers to support their work.

The kitchen is the heart of the home. These breads and tarts come from the heart. Enjoy.
